This wasn’t the reason that I took on my no-smartphone challenge, but he makes a compelling argument:
I do have to admit that in the times when I’ve been out and about with friends this past month, I’ve definitely been more present, in part because I know for sure that no new emails or Facebook updates have magically shown up on my phone.
Have I experienced sadness? Not more than normal. Even without a smartphone, silence is hard to come by in New York City 🙂
